We first apply a topical numbing cream to ensure you’re comfortable for your treatment.
We’ll then draw your blood – don’t worry, we’re quick at this – so we can spin it down and make it a beautiful gold solution.
Next, we either microneedle or inject PRP (or both!) right under your skin to boost collagen and elastin (and new hair growth if doing hair restoration).
We’ll massage any remaining PRP onto your skin so you can reap all the benefits of that liquid magic.

Maybe you’ve heard about PRP — but what, exactly, is it?

The golden-tinged liquid got its name not only for its hue, but because of its natural healing abilities. PRP contains a high concentration of platelets, stem cells and growth factors to help your tissue heal and grow new cells.

Here’s what you need to know.

What is the downtime? Can I go back to work after my treatment?

It is common to notice redness, swelling, bruising and soreness immediately after the procedure. However, this shouldn’t prevent you from returning to work after injections. We recommend scheduling injections around your work schedule if you are concerned about the social downtime.

When will I see results?

Results commonly become noticeable within one week after treatment and improve with time. When treating skin concerns such as melasma and deep lines and wrinkles, it can take several treatments before noticing results.

How long do results last?

Results from treatment are permanent. We recommend diligent lifestyle measures and a Skin Pharm skin care routine to maintain results.

Does it hurt?

Topical anaesthetic cream is applied to reduce discomfort during the treatment.

Are there any other side effects I should know about?

The most common side effects include bleeding, bruising, swelling and redness. These most commonly improve within 1-3 days after treatment.

When can I wear makeup again?

Makeup may be worn 24 hours after treatment.

I’m pregnant or breastfeeding. Can I get PRP?

We recommend receiving clearance from your OBGYN prior to treatment if pregnant or breastfeeding.

Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event. Redness, swelling and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
Let the provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
You may not have an active rash in the area being treated.
Avoidance of Accutane for the past 6 months is required.
Avoidance of IPL/BBL, laser procedures and waxing for the past 7 days is required.
Discontinue topical retinoids 24 hours before treatment to reduce sensitivity.
If pregnant, you must receive clearance from OB/GYN.
It is recommended to discontinue the use of Aspirin, NSAIDS, Gingko Biloba, Garlic, Ginseng, Flax Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E or any other essential fatty acids 1 week before and after treatment to minimize bruising or bleeding from injections. Please consult with your primary physician prior to discontinuing any medications.
Avoid alcohol, caffeine, Niacin supplement, high-sodium foods, high sugar foods, refined carbohydrates, spicy foods and cigarettes 24-48 hours before and after your injections. All of these factors may increase risk of bruising and swelling.
Starting Arnica supplements at least 2 days prior to injections may help with bruising from injections.

Redness or sensitivity might be present (and last up to a few days).
Use Tylenol only as needed for any soreness.
Peeling may start 3-5 days after the procedure.
Do not pick or scratch at treated skin.
Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours due to open skin.
Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
If exposed to the sun, always use broad-spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.
For melasma and scarring, RTC every 4-6 weeks; 4-6 treatments recommended for best results.
For age management, RTC every 12 weeks; 4-6 treatments recommended for best results.

Cleanse face with Skin Pharm Foaming Cleanser morning and evening.
Keep skin moisturized throughout the day with Skin Pharm Recovery Lotion.
May use makeup after 24 hours.
May restart regular skin care routine including exfoliants (retinol, glycolic acid, lactic acid, salicylic acid) in 1-3 days, or once skin is no longer sensitive and healing.
Post-procedure skin care kit can be discontinued once skin no longer feels dry, tight and has completely healed.
The skin care provided to you is intended for use during healing and is ideal for dry, sensitive skin.
Prolonged use for oily, acne-prone skin can cause breakouts.
