Summer School 03: Sun-Safe Treatments

It’s no secret that sun exposure can make the skin more sensitive.

Getting the best results from your skin care treatments means properly caring for your skin afterward — and sometimes, that means staying out of the sun for a bit. But let’s be realistic. We’re all exposed to more sun in the summer, and we don’t want extensive downtime to keep us from enjoying the pool, patio, picnic, park — you fill in the blank.

Whether you’re traveling somewhere sunny or you’re just short on downtime, today’s Summer School lesson is for you! Our Nashville provider and nurse practitioner Madeline Stoffer’s sharing her top three sun-safe treatments to get you glowing with little to no downtime.

Which treatments would you recommend during the summer months?

Skinvive

Let’s start with Skinvive! Skinvive is an injectable that’s going to help maintain and attract the hydrating properties of the skin from within. Once it’s injected, you’ll see the results of that hydrated, glowy look within a month, and the results are going to last you six months.

Moxi

My next favorite treatment for the summertime months is Moxi. While some other laser treatments require you to stay out of the sun for a couple weeks before treatment, you can have sun exposure in the days and weeks leading up to your Moxi treatment. We just require that you stay out of the sun while you’re healing, which can take about 7-10 days.

Moxi is going to help smooth overall skin tone and texture. It also helps minimize (and prevent!) hyperpigmentation, which is one of the most common skin concerns we all fight throughout the summer.

Microneedling with PRP + Botox/Dysport

Lastly, we have combination treatments! My most favorite stackable treatment for the summertime months is microneedling with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and Botox/Dysport. This is going to help with anti-aging, as well as smoothing out those fine lines and wrinkles and giving you that summertime glow.

Any other summer skin care tips we need to know?

We can’t talk about the summer months without addressing SPF! Wear it every single day and reapply every two hours when actively out in the sun. In addition to protecting your skin, sunscreen is going to prevent premature signs of aging and help maintain all of your treatment results.
