Your Moxi Treatment Plan
- Schedule your Moxi appointment at least two weeks before a special event. Redness, swelling and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
- Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
- You may not have an active rash in the area being treated.
- Discontinue any photo-sensitizing medications or drugs (i.e. doxycycline, minocycline) at least 72 hours before Moxi laser treatment.
- Minimize direct sun exposure for two weeks before treatment.
- You’ll need to avoid Accutane for 12 months prior to treatment.
- You’ll need to avoid IPL/BBL photofacials, laser treatments and waxing one week prior to treatment.
- You may not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
- We’ll apply topical numbing cream to ensure you’re comfortable during your Moxi treatment.
- After about 30 minutes, we’ll clean your skin, give you protective eyewear and begin zapping away unwanted skin concerns.
- We’ll assess your skin throughout treatment to monitor for improvement.
- We’ll massage serums and SPF onto your skin to hydrate and protect.
- We’ll send you home with our post-procedure kit to use for the next 7-10 days. You’ll notice bright, refreshed skin within a week!
- Skin will feel warm for a couple hours after Moxi treatment.
- Redness, swelling, sensitivity and bruising might be present and can last up to a few days.
- You may apply ice packs or cold compresses immediately after Moxi treatment.
- Wait 24 hours before wearing makeup.
- Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours.
- Do not pick or scratch at treated skin.
- Avoid sun tanning and prolonged direct sun exposure for two weeks after treatment.
- Avoid heat (i.e. saunas, hot tubs) for 1-2 days after Moxi treatment.
- After a few days, treated pigment will get darker and feel rough in texture (these are called mends, or microscopic epidermal necrotic debris). These will exfoliate off the face within one week and off the body within 1-2 weeks.
- We’ll send you home with a post-procedure kit (our Jetsetter Kit) to use for the next 7-10 days as skin heals post-Moxi treatment.
- Wait one hour (or until your skin is cool) before applying Recovery Lotion or SPF.
- Restart your regular routine after 7-10 days or once skin no longer feels dry, rough, tight and has completely healed.
- Post-procedure kit is ideal for dry, sensitive skin and should only be used while skin heals. Prolonged use for oily, acne-prone skin can cause breakouts.
- Avoid chemical/physical exfoliants and retinol for at least one week after Moxi treatment.
- We recommend wearing broad spectrum SPF 30+ daily and reapplying every two hours.

Moxi is a fractional laser targeting texture, tone, and pigment via collagen stimulation. BBL (BroadBand Light) uses light energy to target pigment, redness, and vascular concerns. They work differently and can be combined at Skin Pharm for enhanced results.
