Your Appointment

Schedule your appointment at least one week before an event. Redness, swelling and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
You may not have an active rash or infection in the area being treated.
You’ll need to avoid Accutane for six months prior to treatment.
You’ll need to avoid waxing for one week before treatment.
To reduce sensitivity, discontinue topical retinoids 24 hours before treatment.
You may not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
To minimize bruising or bleeding, we recommend discontinuing the use of aspirin, NSAIDS and fish oil three days before and after treatment. Talk to your primary physician before discontinuing any medications.

We’ll apply a topical numbing cream to ensure you’re comfortable during your treatment.
Using fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries, we’ll microneedle PDGF into your skin to promote collagen stimulation and regeneration.
We’ll apply any remaining PDGF to your skin immediately after treatment to support healing and recovery.
We provide a Skin Pharm post-procedure kit for you to use 1-3 days after your microneedling treatment while healing.

Redness or sensitivity might be present and can last up to 24 hours.
Peeling and/or dryness may start 1-3 days after treatment.
Don’t pick or scratch at treated skin.
Wait six hours before applying anything to your skin.
Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours.
Wait 24 hours before wearing makeup.
Avoid sun tanning and extensive sun exposure while skin heals.
If exposed to the sun, use broad spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every two hours.

We’ll send you home with a post-procedure kit (our Jetsetter Kit) to use while skin heals.
Cleanse AM and PM with Foaming Cleanser.
Moisturize throughout the day with Recovery Lotion.
Restart your regular routine after 3-5 days or once skin no longer feels dry, tight and has completely healed. Wait 5-7 days before restarting exfoliants (like retinol, glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid).
Post-procedure kit is ideal for dry, sensitive skin and should only be used while skin heals. Prolonged use for oily, acne-prone skin can cause breakouts.

How does PDGF reduce downtime?

PDGF supports tissue repair and helps reduce inflammation. This may contribute to a smoother, more comfortable recovery period.
When will I see results?

For melasma and scarring, results are often visible after 2-3 treatments. For age management, results are often visible after 1-2 treatments.

Does it hurt?

We’ll apply topical numbing cream to minimize potential discomfort. Many patients find the treatment relaxing!
Are there any other side effects I should know about?

The most common side effects are redness and sensitivity, but these should subside within 24 hours. PDGF helps accelerate recovery, too!
When can I wear makeup again?

We recommend waiting 24 hours before applying makeup.

No. Microneedling with PDGF should not be done while pregnant or breastfeeding.
