Your Appointment

Schedule your appointment at least two weeks before a special event. Redness, swelling and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
You may not have an active rash in the area being treated.
Discontinue any photo-sensitizing medications or drugs (i.e. doxycycline, minocycline) at least 72 hours before treatment.
Minimize direct sun exposure for two weeks before treatment.
You’ll need to avoid Accutane for 12 months prior to treatment.
You’ll need to avoid IPL/BBL photofacials, laser treatments and waxing one week prior to treatment.
You may not be pregnant or breastfeeding.

We’ll apply topical numbing cream to ensure you’re comfortable during treatment.
After about 30 minutes, we’ll clean your skin, give you protective eyewear and begin zapping away unwanted skin concerns.
We’ll assess your skin throughout treatment to monitor for improvement.
We’ll massage serums and SPF onto your skin to hydrate and protect.
We’ll send you home with our post-procedure kit to use for the next 7-10 days — you’ll notice bright, refreshed skin within a week!

Skin will feel warm for a couple hours after treatment.
Redness, swelling, sensitivity and bruising might be present and can last up to a few days.
You may apply ice packs or cold compresses immediately afterward.
Wait 24 hours before wearing makeup.
Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours.
Do not pick or scratch at treated skin.
Avoid sun tanning and prolonged direct sun exposure for two weeks after treatment.
Avoid heat (i.e. saunas, hot tubs) for 1-2 days after treatment.
After a few days, treated pigment will get darker and feel rough in texture (these are called mends, or microscopic epidermal necrotic debris). These will exfoliate off the face within one week and off the body within 1-2 weeks.

We’ll send you home with a post-procedure kit (our Jetsetter Kit) to use for the next 7-10 days as skin heals.
Wait one hour (or until your skin is cool) before applying Recovery Lotion or SPF.
Restart your regular routine after 7-10 days or once skin no longer feels dry, rough, tight and has completely healed.
Post-procedure kit is ideal for dry, sensitive skin and should only be used while skin heals. Prolonged use for oily, acne-prone skin can cause breakouts.
Avoid chemical/physical exfoliants and retinol for at least one week.
We recommend wearing broad spectrum SPF 30+ daily and reapplying every two hours.

Is Moxi safe for darker skin types?

Yes! The non-ablative 1927nm wavelength targets water within the skin, making it safe and gentle on all skin tones and types. While Moxi is safe on tanned skin, we recommend avoiding excessive sun exposure two weeks prior to treatment.
What does it feel like?

You might feel a mild tingling or pricking sensation, but Moxi doesn’t hurt. We’ll apply topical numbing cream before your treatment to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.
What’s the downtime like?

Compared to other laser treatments, Moxi requires minimal downtime. Your skin may be red and feel warm immediately following treatment, but this usually subsides within 24-48 hours. The healing process takes between 7-10 days — keep reading for more details!
When will I see results?

After a few days, treated pigment will appear darker and rough in texture. This should slough off within 7-10 days, revealing renewed skin beneath. You may start seeing results after one treatment, but we typically recommend three treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart for best results.
Are there any side effects?

Your skin may feel warm and appear red immediately after treatment, but this should subside within 24-48 hours. Treated pigment will appear darker and rough in texture on the skin, but this is totally normal — those rough spots will slough away within 7-10 days, leaving your skin smoother and your complexion more even.
How should I prep for my treatment?

Avoid any photosensitive-causing medications 2 weeks prior to treatment, as well as excessive sun exposure. And, as always, come with clean skin!
Can I stack Moxi with other treatments?

Yes! Moxi can be stacked with Botox/Dysport, lip filler, a BBL photofacial, microneedling and PRP.
I’m pregnant or breastfeeding. Can I get Moxi?

No. Moxi should not be done while pregnant or breastfeeding.
