PRP gel enhances the rejuvenating benefits of platelet-rich plasma.
Loved for its ability to promote collagen production, healing and cell regeneration, your body’s own platelet-rich plasma (PRP) now does even more. Our newest treatment, PRP gel, naturally restores lost volume, too!
Today, our clinical trainer Shayla Kicklighter, PA-C breaks down the basics of PRP gel, what it does and why we’ve added this innovative treatment to our service menu.
Watch the full episode below or read on for the recap!
PRP gel is a treatment made from your own blood — your platelet-rich plasma — that restores volume and rejuvenates skin. The reason we’re adding PRP gel to our service menu is because we wanted to offer a bioregenerative option to patients looking for volumizing benefits.
There’s so much engineering that goes into bioregenerative options — treatments that stimulate your body’s natural processes for collagen production and tissue repair — and after doing much research on our part, we wanted to offer you the best option available.
To collect your platelet-rich plasma, we’ll start by taking your blood, spinning it and separating out your plasma, which has all of the good growth factors in it that we use for treatment. We put this through a controlled heating and cooling process, which gives it a gel-like consistency without any additives!
PRP gel improves volume loss, reduces fine lines and boosts skin elasticity through increased collagen production. As collagen builds with time, we see even more benefits, like improvements in discoloration and a more radiant complexion. Plus, PRP gel is all-natural and virtually risk-free.
PRP gel can be used in pretty much any area where you’re experiencing volume loss. Common treatment areas include the temples, under-eyes, midface, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, neck and backs of hands.
Downtime with PRP gel is relatively minimal. You may experience some bruising and swelling right after treatment, but this will dissipate over the next few days.
Just like with PRP injections, you’ll see some instantaneous results, but the best is yet to come! Results only get better as collagen production increases, so PRP gel is best as a series of two treatments.
