Complexion Class 22: An Introduction to PDGF

PDGF delivers collagen stimulation you can count on.

This topical enhancement replicates natural regenerative processes, helping the skin stay smooth, firm and resilient. And because it’s precisely formulated to exact standards, it’s both effective and consistent. Today, our Tampa provider Kylie Cook, PA-C explains how PDGF works.

What is PDGF, and what does it do?

PDGF stands for platelet-derived growth factor. It’s a lab-created growth factor that mimics what our body naturally releases during healing. Essentially, it signals our skin to produce more collagen and elastin so it can repair itself more efficiently.

It allows us to deliver consistent, reliable collagen stimulation without needing a blood draw, and it’s a great option for patients who want predictable results.

It sounds similar to PRP. What differentiates PDGF?

If you’re familiar with PRP (platelet-rich plasma), think of PDGF as a more standardized approach to collagen stimulation. We love PRP. We use it daily, but PRP quality can vary due to a patient’s age, overall health and even lifestyle factors. PDGF removes that variability because it’s consistent and precisely formulated.

What kind of results can I expect?

We’re offering topical PDGF with microneedling and Moxi laser to enhance your treatment outcomes and optimize collagen stimulation.

You’ll notice a brighter, more even complexion and smoother skin within the first few weeks. Collagen production takes time, so firmer skin and softening of those fine lines can take two to three months, with continued improvement over the next few months.
