Some seasons of life call for self-care in small doses.
Between running Nette Shop and navigating new motherhood, nearly every hour on Liz Connelly’s schedule is accounted for. “Life outside of work looks a little different these days because I recently became a mom,” Liz says. “It’s definitely a busy season of life, but a really special one.”
While she may not always have time for an extensive self-care routine, Liz finds that appreciating everyday moments is just as meaningful. We caught up with Liz during a recent visit to Skin Pharm Charleston!
That’s such a hard one, but probably my microneedling with PRP series. I noticed the biggest difference in my skin texture and overall glow afterward. I feel like the PRP really helped with healing and made my skin look brighter, smoother and more refreshed while still feeling really natural.
I can’t live without the Youth Serum and the Mineral Tinted SPF. Youth Serum has really helped keep my skin hydrated, and the tinted SPF is something I wear every single day because sunscreen has become such an important part of my routine. Some days, it completely replaces my foundation.
Lately, it’s been the small things. Doing my skin care at night after my son goes to sleep, going on walks with my family or even just having a few quiet minutes before the day starts. Life feels really busy right now, so I’ve learned self-care doesn’t have to be anything huge to make a difference.
Probably that you can do things imperfectly and still do them well. I think about that a lot lately, especially balancing work, motherhood and everything in between. It’s helped me let go of the pressure to have everything figured out all the time.
I’m so grateful for the community here, especially as a small business owner. There are so many creatives doing really inspiring things, but Charleston still feels laid back at the same time. It’s just a really special place to call home. Oh, and we have really good food.
Keeping things simple and consistent. Drinking more water, wearing SPF every single day, getting outside for walks and sticking to a skin care routine I can actually maintain. I’ve learned the little habits you do consistently really make the biggest difference.
