We’ll send you home with a post-procedure kit (our Jetsetter Kit). These products are ideal for dry, sensitive skin and should only be used while skin heals. Once skin no longer feels dry, tight and has completely healed, you can return to your regular routine. Prolonged use for oily, acne-prone skin can cause breakouts.
It’s common to experience peeling within 1-2 days of treatment, which can last up to five days. We recommend scheduling chemical peels around your work schedule if you’re concerned about social downtime.
Results from peels that involve shedding of the skin are commonly noticed about one week after treatment.
Results from treatment are permanent. We recommend diligent lifestyle measures and seasonal or yearly chemical peels to maintain results.
The procedure is well tolerated and well accepted by patients. No anesthesia is needed.
The most common side effects include redness, peeling, swelling and itching. Rarely, chemical peels can cause acne that is under the surface to purge.
Medium-depth peels target the epidermis and papillary dermis, allowing for both the effects of light peels and improvement in features related to abnormalities in the superficial dermis, such as mild wrinkling and mild scarring.
No. Chemical peels should not be done while pregnant or breastfeeding.
