Can I get this treatment for melasma?
We do not recommend light or laser therapy treatments for melasma. We recommend chemical peels, gold infusion, microneedling and PRP treatments for this skin concern.
What is the downtime? Can I go back to work after my treatment?
Your skin may look and feel like you have a mild sunburn after the treatment. This can be covered up with makeup and you can return to work immediately after the treatment.
When will I see results?
Pigment will initially darken and improve around 10 days after the treatment when exfoliated from the skin. Redness improves during the treatment or over the next several days after the treatment. Facial vessels improve during the treatment or over the next several days after the treatment.
How long do results last?
Results from treatment are permanent. We recommend diligent lifestyle measures and a Skin Pharm skin care routine to maintain results.
Does it hurt?
The procedure is well tolerated and well accepted by patients. No anesthesia is needed.
Are there any other side effects I should know about?
The most common side effects include a mild sunburn look and feel, swelling and rarely hyper or hypopigmentation.
When can I wear makeup again?
Makeup may be worn immediately following the treatment.
I’m pregnant or breastfeeding. Can I get photofacials?
We recommend receiving clearance from your OBGYN prior to treatment if pregnant or breastfeeding.
