• Schedule your appointment at least 2 weeks prior to a special event. Redness, swelling and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
• Let the provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
• You may not have an active rash in the area being treated.
• Avoidance of Accutane for the past 6 months is required.
• Avoidance of IPL/BBL, laser procedures and waxing for the past 7 days is required.
• Discontinue topical retinoids one week before treatment to reduce sensitivity.
• If pregnant or breastfeeding, you must receive clearance from OB/GYN.
• The treatment should be discussed in full prior to procedure to set proper expectations.

• Redness or sensitivity might be present (and last up to a few days).
• Peeling may start 1-3 days after treatment.
• Do not pick or scratch at treated skin.
• Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours or until skin is done peeling.
• Avoid sun tanning and prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
• If exposed to the sun, always use broad spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every 2 hours.
• Wear sun protective hats.
• Results are most noticeable after the second treatment.
• Recommend follow up and repeat treatments in 4-6 weeks.
• Best results are obtained in a series of 4-6 treatments.

• Post-treatment skin care kit can be discontinued once skin no longer feels dry, tight and has completely healed.
• The skin care provided to you is intended for use during healing and is ideal for dry, sensitive skin.
• Prolonged use for oily, acne-prone skin can cause breakouts.

ZO 3-Step Peel:

• Avoid cleansing for 5 hours following treatment, preferably overnight.
• Cleanse face with Skin Pharm Foaming Cleanser and continue to cleanse morning and evening.
• After first cleanse at home, apply full packet of ZO 6% retinol. Allow to fully dry before the next step.
• Apply Skin Pharm Recovery Lotion AM/PM and as needed for dryness and irritation.
• May return to using makeup once peeling is done.
• May restart regular skin care routine and exfoliants (retinol, AHAs, salicylic acid) in 5-7 days or once skin is no longer peeling.
