Explore the Benefits of Facials with a Spa Day in Charlotte

Although the city is named after a queen, there’s more than one reason that Charlotte, North Carolina, has earned the nickname of Queen City.

If you’re ready to be pampered and treated like royalty, Charlotte is the perfect place for a self-care spa day.

Let’s take a look at the treatments and facials you can receive in Charlotte.

What are the benefits of facials?

Using facials for rest, relaxation and skin benefits has been around for centuries. Although the science behind the active ingredients skin care professionals use in facials has evolved significantly, the basic premise is still the same.

Facials are now much more than putting on a mud mask and kicking your feet up. Modern facials include treatment with broadband light, your own platelet-rich plasma and more.

While many involve at least a little bit of downtime after your appointment, some offer instant results that let you get right back to your daily routine as soon as you leave the clinic. Ultimately, a good facial gives you the opportunity to rest and relax — reminding yourself that you’re worthy of self-care while also helping to address skin care concerns.

Options for facials in Charlotte

At Skin Pharm, our goal is to provide you with customized service so that you can achieve (and exceed) your skin care goals. At our Charlotte med spa, we offer a variety of facials to meet your needs. Contact us today to get on the schedule for your own spa day.

BBL photofacials

BBL (or BroadBand Light) photofacials are a quick, in-office facial with immediate results and minimal downtime. This style of facial can target breakouts, redness and areas of hyperpigmentation quickly and easily, leaving you with beautiful, rejuvenated skin.

The specific frequency of BroadBand Light works to support skin cell regeneration and collagen production. All you’ll feel is a little “snap,” followed by a visible improvement in your areas of concern. These are some of the fastest, most effective facials that people can experience.

Chemical peels

Chemical peels are one of the original facials. However, that doesn’t mean they haven’t evolved and advanced since they were invented.

Today’s chemical peels work like a reset button for your skin. They can address multiple skin concerns, including visible signs of sun damage, the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes and uneven texture.

Although chemical peels require more downtime than other facials, we believe the results are well worth a few days of redness and peeling. For more advanced concerns, like deep lines and wrinkles or darker areas of hyperpigmentation, multiple treatments may be recommended (roughly every four to six weeks for optimal results).

Gold Infusions

The benefits of facials are as good as gold, and Gold Infusion facials take that belief to a whole new level. Although Gold Infusion facials aren’t made of gold, 24k gold needles are used to deliver a customized cocktail of active ingredients (including antioxidants, hydrators, PRP and even Botox) just under the skin.

The result is brighter, clearer, more radiant-looking skin in just the ways you’re looking for — and less visible fine lines and wrinkles, scars and dark spots. Gold Infusion facials are suitable for all skin types and colors, including those with thin or sensitive skin.

Microneedling with PRP

Although not technically a “facial” in the traditional sense of the word, microneedling (especially with the added benefit of platelet-rich plasma — PRP) offers many of the same advantages.

Microneedling is a multitasking treatment that is great for nearly any skin concern — or just to make already beautiful skin look even more radiant and youthful. When combined with the power of your own body via platelet-rich plasma, you can boost the anti-aging and rejuvenating potential even further.

All we need to do is safely draw your blood in-office, spin it down in a centrifuge, and use that with the specialized microneedling tool to get it deep into your skin. Microneedling is also the easiest facial to customize, as the depth can be adjusted depending on your goals.

Skin care consults

Not sure which facial is right for you? Have other questions about your skin that you’ve been dying to ask?

Skin Pharm Charlotte also offers skin care consults with one of our providers. These consults give you one-on-one time to talk about your goals, have your skin assessed by a professional and get a plan customized to help you reach those goals.

Follow facials up with a supportive skin care routine

While the benefits of facials might be amazing, they can’t be at their most effective without a supportive skin care routine to follow them up. Hydration is one of the most crucial parts of helping the skin heal after a facial, so follow your provider’s advice on what skin care products are best.

In most cases, you’ll also want to switch to a gentle cleanser for at least a few days after your treatment — especially if you regularly use products with retinol or other exfoliants. Your skin is at its most vulnerable after a facial, so take care not to irritate it further. This also includes staying out of direct sunlight, avoiding excessive heat or sweating and not wearing makeup for at least 24 hours after your appointment.

To sum things up...

The benefits of facials are more than just cosmetic — taking the time out to take care of yourself is also essential for your mental health and self confidence. If you’re located in or around Charlotte, our Skin Pharm professionals would love to talk to you about your options.

We’re dedicated to making sure you look as good as you feel — you deserve it.
