8 Skin Treatments That Will Deliver Results

If you’re going to spend money on skin care treatments, you want to feel confident they’ll deliver results.

At Skin Pharm, our knowledgeable skin care providers offer a variety of effective skin care treatments. But skin care isn’t one-size-fits all, so we work with you to create a customized, comprehensive plan to help you achieve your specific skin goals. An initial skin consultation allows us to get to know you, your skin and find the exact treatments and products that will help you look and feel your best.

Let’s talk about the eight main skin treatments we offer and how they can help you feel confident in your skin.

1. Botox + Dysport

Botox remains at the top of the cosmetic procedure charts for good reason — it works. This potent skin treatment provides real, noticeable changes by smoothing expression lines, softening stiff muscles and helping your skin look its best.

In particular, Dysport (which is slightly more diluted to allow it to spread more easily) is excellent at managing frown lines.

To maintain your results, you’ll need to refresh your Botox or Dysport roughly every four months. Otherwise, your skin may slowly return to how it was before your injections.

2. Filler

If you have “static” fine lines (lines that occur due to collagen loss as opposed to repetitive movement), Botox isn’t your best option. Instead, talk to your skin care provider about a dermal filler like Juvederm, Restylane or Sculptra.

Fillers subtly fill in those static lines to keep your skin looking as youthful as possible for as long as possible. They require minimal downtime as well; most people only experience a day or two of redness or sensitivity.

3. Microneedling

Microneedling is one of our favorite ways to support the skin — and we know it will quickly become one of your favorites, too.

Microneedling involves using a specialized tool to make tiny, controlled punctures on the skin. Don’t worry — we use a numbing cream first to ensure you’re comfortable.

The skin reacts to these punctures like it would any other wound — by sending collagen to the area being treated. More collagen in that area can help fade the appearance of breakout scars, dark spots, age spots and uneven skin tone.

4. PRP

Platelet-rich plasma (or PRP) injections may be the beauty industry’s best kept secret, but we think everyone should know about them! PRP can support the healing process by harnessing the power of your body’s own platelets (drawn in the office by our trained providers). Orthopedic health care providers have used PRP for years, but research proves its effectiveness for dermatological use, too.

More than almost any other skin treatment, PRP is suitable for all skin types and colors. It can also be combined with other treatments, like microneedling, for enhanced results.

5. Gold Infusion facials

Gold isn’t just a material in your earrings, necklaces or rings — it’s also an effective skin treatment. Gold Infusion facials deliver a customized cocktail of antioxidants and hydrating ingredients just under the skin where you need them. Like microneedling and PRP, Gold Infusion facials can help the skin look fuller and smoother.

If you want even more of a boost, you can add Botox to your Gold Infusion for a smoother, more even skin texture.

6. BBL photofacial

Remember the feeling of going outside on the first warm day of the year? That’s the power of a little light therapy.

BBL photofacials harness the power of light to provide immediate results with nearly nonexistent downtime. BBL photofacials are also quick to perform, making them one of the fastest skin treatments we offer.

These treatments can help support your skin in a variety of ways. This includes brightening the appearance of discoloration related to sun damage, firming the skin and soothing the appearance of redness.

7. Chemical peels

Exfoliation is important for overall skin health — if you don’t slough them away, dead skin cells can clog up pores, contribute to dryness and cause the skin to look dull. Home treatment options like retinol can help some, but if you want to really take your exfoliation game up a notch, schedule an appointment for a chemical peel.

Chemical peels are like a “reset” button for your skin, using chemical solutions to exfoliate on a deeper level to even out your skin tone. As the outer layers of the skin come away, the new skin beneath is radiant, clear and beautiful.

However, unlike other skin treatments, chemical peels do require a fair amount of downtime. It’s important to make sure you plan ahead when scheduling your appointment. If you have dry skin, damaged skin or any pre-existing skin conditions, you may notice extra side effects like redness and irritation.

If you have any pre-existing skin problems, make sure you share them with your provider before moving forward with treatment.

It’s also important to wear sunscreen with at least SPF 30 after getting a chemical peel, as your skin may be more sensitive to the sun. Make sure you look for broad-spectrum sun protection and keep out of the sun unless necessary, or follow the instructions of your provider.

8. Kybella

If you’ve tried facial yoga, gua sha and jade rolling but still have a little extra skin under your chin, don’t worry. When injected into the area, Kybella can help counteract the appearance of a double chin.

It can also be used in other areas, like around the bra line and in the stomach and thighs. When injected, Kybella destroys fat cells by eliminating their ability to accumulate and store fat, resulting in a permanently slimmer profile. For many people, these results rival surgical results — except you don’t need to be put under anesthesia to achieve them.

The bottom line…

If you struggle with skin concerns like areas of pigmentation, an increase in fine lines and wrinkles or a loss of volume, there are proven, effective skin care treatment options that deliver results. When combined with the right at-home skin care products (like cleansers and moisturizers), skin treatments can support the appearance of healthy skin in the long run.

If you’re unsure which skin treatment is right for you, schedule a skin care consultation with one of our knowledgeable providers here at Skin Pharm to discuss your options.
