Your PDGF Treatment Plan
- Schedule your appointment at least one week before an event. Redness, swelling and peeling may be apparent in that time period.
- Let your provider know if you have a history of cold sores. An antiviral may be prescribed.
- You may not have an active rash or infection in the area being treated.
- You’ll need to avoid Accutane for six months prior to treatment.
- You’ll need to avoid waxing for one week before treatment.
- To reduce sensitivity, discontinue topical retinoids 24 hours before treatment.
- You may not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
- To minimize bruising or bleeding, we recommend discontinuing the use of aspirin, NSAIDS and fish oil three days before and after treatment. Talk to your primary physician before discontinuing any medications.
- We’ll apply a topical numbing cream to ensure you’re comfortable during your treatment.
- Using fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries, we’ll microneedle PDGF into your skin to promote collagen stimulation and regeneration.
- We’ll apply any remaining PDGF to your skin immediately after treatment to support healing and recovery.
- We provide a Skin Pharm post-procedure kit for you to use 1-3 days after your microneedling treatment while healing.
- Redness or sensitivity might be present and can last up to 24 hours.
- Peeling and/or dryness may start 1-3 days after treatment.
- Don’t pick or scratch at treated skin.
- Wait six hours before applying anything to your skin.
- Avoid strenuous exercise or sweating for 24 hours.
- Wait 24 hours before wearing makeup.
- Avoid sun tanning and extensive sun exposure while skin heals.
- If exposed to the sun, use broad spectrum SPF 30+ and reapply every two hours.
- For melasma, acne, scars and hyperpigmentation, 4-6 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are recommended for best results.
- For age management, 3-4 treatments spaced 4-6 weeks apart are recommended for best results.
- We’ll send you home with a post-procedure kit (our Jetsetter Kit) to use while skin heals.
- Cleanse AM and PM with Foaming Cleanser.
- Moisturize throughout the day with Recovery Lotion.
- Restart your regular routine after 3-5 days or once skin no longer feels dry, tight and has completely healed. Wait 5-7 days before restarting exfoliants (like retinol, glycolic acid, lactic acid and salicylic acid).
- Post-procedure kit is ideal for dry, sensitive skin and should only be used while skin heals. Prolonged use for oily, acne-prone skin can cause breakouts.
